RAC meeting

Minutes 17-06-2005

• Contact Tim Whibley for cable correctly the arrays that were assigned to Castor.
• Tests by DirkD will move from 8 node to 4 node RAC as for next week
• Complete RAC set-up by mid-July (Marta and DirkG)

• Maria presented current status and milestones - RACsetup_june2005.ppt

• DirkD presented first tests on RAC with COOL SW [presentation]
  • Very good results showing scalability up to 8 nodes on lookups
  • Problems (known) on load balancing. Recalculates loads unfrequently.

• Eva presented results of tests with ORacle IO Numbers [presentation]

• DES/ADC got offers from DELL for RAC cluster. DES will get a 4 node RAC of 4CPU machines and ADC a 4 node RAC of 2CPU machines. Delivery time is very short (about 2/3 weeks). This HW is fully certified.
