RAC meeting 12-Dec-2005

Hardware

• 30 mid-range PCs are ready in critical area in GPN network and on LANDB. Today wll go to CCDB and can be started to be installed by FIO. Have already HBA and GB connection
• switches price inquired out by end of week. Order by end of January and arrival by end of February (luckly).
• need to check with Tim necessary cable lenghts ASAP (TimW/ ... )
• disk-arrays expected in end of February

Spares policy

• idea to keep one spare (PC+disk-array) for current config
• 2 couple of spares for new config.
• fix/replacement policy is 12 working hours
• need to work with Elonex to get a replacement machine for period when machine is away

Interventions

• DBA should create ticket for any kind of hardware
• Study how to swap spare machines if needed.

Plan 2006

• expand control networkd of storage to the new storages
• make network plans for internal mid-range networks (Jacek/TimW)
• Maria presented plans for 2006 in terms of mid-range and storage usage
• new request for disk-arrays can be made at any time (will be only for us). Three months from price inquiry to delivery.
