Atlas DBs and online network
A wiki page for the discussion on how to connect Atlas online (pit) to the DB services in IT
A few acronyms
- ATCN: ATLAS control network, the online network
- ATCN is propagated via a fiber to the computer room
- Switch D513-C-IPY-SHP3M-10 on RAC2 is used to associate DB servers to ATCN
- GPN: CERN general public network
- This is the network used by all IT services including monitor and backup
- ONLINE: db nodes for atlas online RAC
- OFFLINE: db nodes for atlas offline RAC
Tentative Network Diagram
- ONLINE:
- connected to ATCN
- connected to OFFLINE (only) via private network (non-routed)
- not connected to GPN
- OFFLINE:
- connected to GPN
- connected to ONLINE via private network (non-routed)
- not connected to ATCN
- GATEWAY:
- bastion host, used to access ATCN from GPN
PS: Cluster interconnects can be ignored for this purpose.
