  • General announcements:
    • Recovery workshop will be the 12th and 13th of June, at CNAF. Please let us know who will attend and if it is necessary to reserve a phone conference.
    • Thanks to the sites who have alredy sent the overview of the Oracle installations. In the next 3d meeting there will be a discussion about the FTS and LFC installations.
    • VOMS replication to be discussed in the next workshop. There are more applications interested: GridView and SAM. It is necessary to analyze the implications for the Tier sites installations: Oracle licences, hw, ...
    • Please could Tier1 sites determine how many Oracle licences are already used by the LFC applications?

  • Sites status:
    • Tier0 network problems "connection lost contact" in propagation to several Tier1 sites: In collaboration with the CERN network people we have found:
      • Gratuitous ARP packages generated from BMC ARP Control. This component has been disabled.
      • A problem related to the lack/wrong support of TCP selective ACKs in the firewall. The feature that randomizes the TCP sequence numbering has been disabled.
    • BNL and Triumf have joined ATLAS setup.
    • PIC has joined LHCb setup.
    • SARA: nothing to report.
    • BNL: new controller installed, hw replaced successfully. There was an error reported by the propagation, second instance was not restarted correctely but it is already fixed.
    • Triumf: Denice is now the responsible for the 3D project at Triumf. Performance problem has been fixed and COOL and TAGS throughput is fine for ATLAS experiment.
    • GridKA: no news, Doris and Andreas will join the workshop at CNAF
    • NDGF: single node modified for ATLAS requirements: archive log mode, new area for backups, Olli will setup RMAN, in the meantime it is suggested to check the filesystem to avoid run out of space.
    • Taiwan: block corrupted in the controlfile discovered by RMAN.
  • Registration for Database Interventions:
    • Zbigniew’s slides available on the agenda
    • Now Tier1 sites are able to automatically introduce the planned interventions in the LCG 3d wiki page.
    • Please send an email to Zbigniew (or Eva) with the desired login: Zbigniew Baranowski <Zbigniew.Baranowski@cern.ch>
    • An email will be sent with the intervention information to the general list.
    • NOTE: From Tuesday next week we will assume that all the interventions will be announced using this new tool.

  • Experiments status:
    • ATLAS:
      • BNL and Triumf have joined the Streams setup.
      • RAL has lost some data during last week network problems, several errors have been found on the alert logs, Eva has already contacted Oracle support. Gancho has synchronized the site sending a complete copy of the data. The import operation took long time to RAL in comparision to BNL and Triumf. Probably due to character conversion because one of the tables contains CLOBS.
      • There are 8 sites synchronized, Richard has enabled his jobs again.
      • No jobs reading yet because the “FULL SCAN TABLE” issue has not been understand yet. Roman, Gianni and Andrea (COOL) are working on it.
      • Richard will enable restricted read jobs to have some feedback about the replication.
      • Gancho will start the tests against to PIC today or tomorrow.

  • Frontier Client Performance Improvements:
    • Slides available on the agenda
