    • SARA: Alexander

  • CERN:
    • 3D: Dirk, Maria, Jacek, Lisa, Luca, Dawid
    • ATLAS: Gancho, Florbela

  • Today cannot join - reports sent by email:

  • Sites status:
    • RAL (Carmine):
      • will set _buffered_publisher_flow_control_threshold parameter (rolling intervention)
      • memory tuning problems, identified, buffer cache adjusted
      • problems with LFC upgrades
    • Triumf (Andrew):
      • FTR2 tests - tests moved to a node running apply - caused bottleneck on streams, snapshot too old problems spotted as well
    • BNL (Carlos):
      • apply stuck last week, nothing in the logs, SR open, after moving backups to other node, no problems observed since then
    • Gridka:
      • LHCB LFC propagation problem, diagnostic patch will be applied on Monday
      • end of October (28 evening and 29) full downtime - physical hardware (storage) move
    • PIC (Luis)
      • nothing to report
    • NDGF (Oli)
      • nothing to report
    • SARA (Alexander): * reboots, agent problems

  • General summary:
    • There are still 2 Tier1 sites which have not setup the Streams parameter _buffered_publisher_flow_control_threshold (parameter recommended for Streams on Oracle CNAF and RAL. Several reminders have been sent.
    • 3d OEM agents/targets still not well configured at IN2P3 (all databases), SARA and CNAF (ATLAS database).
    • we've observed different undo retention on different sites - recommended at least 1 hour, 2 hours preferred

  • LFC:
    • LFC migration out of SRM v1 endpoint intervention done on Tuesday, 7th October. Streams replication was stopped during the intervention and the updates where performed at CERN first and then at all the 6 Tier1 sites. Everything went fine and the intervention finished in time except for RAL where the update was not able to finish in more than one day. The data was finally exported from CERN and imported at RAL.
    • Oracle support is working on the problem observed with the propagation at Gridka. They have produced a diagnostic patch which must be installed in the next 7 days. The aim is to produce more trace information next time this issue happens.

  • ATLAS:
    • Two weeks ago Gancho spotted a problem on the Streams setup to Taiwan: a mistake on the apply rules at Taiwan during the last intervention to add a new schema caused the suppression of 30 schemas from the replication. With the help of PIC, we have used the transportable tablespaces procedure to re-synchronize completely Taiwan between Monday 6th October and Tuesday 7th October.
    • new schemas to be added to streaming (currently around 50 schemas, 10 more to be added), work with IT-CO (Piotr) to fix compatibility issues with streaming, one big account will be compressed and instantiated by transportable tablespaces
    • joint ATLAS-IT optimization task force results - optimizations in COOL, getting rid of 'count(*)' from jobs, improvements in COOL 2.6
    • replica to DAISY - preference to read data from gridka, discussion still in progress
    • Tier1s should send updated information to 3D list performance results of their storage, number of disks, capacity, IOPS, etc. whtever you have

  • CMS:
    • streaming tests in progress for PVSS data - streaming from online to offline

    • following recent data corruption RAL & CNAF will be upgrading to

  • Workshop:
    • Please comment on Maria's proposal for topics (sent to 3D list)

  • Next meeting on .
