How to run Swingbench 2.2 in the distributed mode

Install the nodes

Download the required files

Swingbench 2.2 on http://www.dominicgiles.com/downloads.html

Oracle Instant Client (Instant Client Package - Basic + JDBC Supplement + SQL*Plus)

Sun's J2RE 1.4.2_13

Unzip the files

Put the instant client in the swingbench directory.

Install Sun's JRE
sudo rpm -ivh j2re*.rpm

Configuration files in swingbench

Modify the environment variables in $SWINGHOME/swingbench.env

=> Using the Instant Client you have to put $ORACLE_HOME/lib/ojdbc14.jar instead of $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/ojdbc14.jar

Modify the configuration file $SWINGBENCH/bin/swingconfig.xml

Deploy Swingbench on every node

Copy the swingbench folder on every nodes (it has to be in the same folder).

More efficient ? Put it in a shared folder accessible to every node.

Unset the environnement variable ORA_NLS10 where needed (makes swingbench to crash).

Calling Circle demo

Configure $SWINGBENCH/bin/ccwizard.xml

Generate the database schema for this demo.

Generate the load data files.

Copy the corresponding data files on each node.

Start the coordinator.

Start every node.

Start clusteroverview and start the demo.
