PanDA: Production and Distributed Analysis system

Pilots are one of the main PanDA features. Pilots are launched on computing resources before real tasks, they check up their condition, parameters and availability before asking server for real task to launch on them.

PanDA consists of several modules, the most important are:

  1. PanDA server — accepts jobs and controls them (including pilots). Installation: PanDAServerInstallation
  2. PanDA server MySQL DB — DB behind PanDA server. Installation: PanDAServerDBInstallation
  3. PanDA client — can be used to interact with the server
  4. PanDA Monitoring — monitoring system. Installation(MySQL version): PanDAMonitorInstallation
  5. PanDA apf — AutoPyFactory, module which generates and launches pilots. Installation: PanDAAPFInstallation
  6. PanDA queue configuration — configuring a site: PanDAQueueConfiguration

After installation and configuration, PanDA can be tested following the validation guide.
