CoralServer tests

In this page I describe the tests that I run for a first quick validation of the CORAL_SERVER code. Other tests prepared by Alex are executed in the nightlies using the two CoralServer instances we maintain for this purpose (one for CORAL_2_3-patches and one for CORAL-preview, using different port numbers on the same machine).

CoralServer instances

programporttagplatform
Server40007coral-previewx86_64-slc5-gcc43-opt
Server40009coral_2_3-patchesx86_64-slc5-gcc43-opt

restart procedure

log in to the coralserver machine coralserver.cern.ch with the user cs

use the init scripts to start/stop/restart the instances

/etc/init.d/coralserver start

/etc/init.d/coralserver_patches start

The spawn_up script is starting the process in daemon mode and creates a pid file. The file is located at /var/run/ and contains the PID which can be used to kill the process
