Server Administration Issues

Get a certificate for Savannah

Go to the Verisign page at https://onsite.verisign.com/CERNITIS/serverEnroll.htm and ask for a new certificate. CERN has a contract, so you can directly go to the "Apache" page.

You will be asked for a CSR, copy paste the full content from: /afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/app/spi/servers/lcgapp2/apache-ssl/ssl.csr/server.csr (including the first and last lines with --- ... ---) into the corresponding field, fill in your contact information and selece "Apache" from the field.

You'll get then a mail confirming that you have requested the Certificate,

After a while, you'll get a mail from the CERN Administrator (in April 2005 Andreas Wagner) with the certificate attached (cert.crt).

On lcgapp2 (as root) then do the following (assuming you copied the certificate file to ~pfeiffer/cert.crt, change this accordingly, also update the year in the backup-copy accordingly)

/etc/httpd/conf/ssl.crt/
cp ~pfeiffer/cert.crt server.crt
cp server.crt server-2005.crt
chmod 400 server-2005.crt
cd /etc/init.d
./httpd restart

That should be all.
