Minutes of the LIM meeting, Aug 25, 2005

Present: Florence Ranjard (LHCb), Shahzad Muzaffar (CMS), Emil Obreshkov (ATLAS), Andreas Pfeiffer (SPI)

Apologies: David Quarrie (ATLAS), Vasily Kabachenko (ATLAS), Eric Poinsignon (SPI)

Actions:

Alberto has set up a savannah project to report bugs for the RuleChecker installation at CERN. IRST people are on the mailing list.

A new round of releases based on SEAL 1.7.2 is in preparation.

A couple of fixes have been introduced "online" in the GENSER 1.1.0 release area. These changes are going to be included in the scripts used to build and install future GENSER releases to avoid these problems.

The savannah service will move to a SLC3 based machine early next week, the web sites hosted by LCGAPP will follow in the same week. These changes are expected to be transparent to the users as long as they use the official DNS aliases (savannah.cern.ch, lcgapp.cern.ch, pool.cern.ch, spi.cern.ch).

Issues:

LHCb asked about the status of pacman on windows (native, not using cygwin).

LHCb asked about the status of the installation of Dawn/David in the external area.

Next meeting: Sep. 22, 11:00.

Action items:

new and outstanding:

  • check status of DAWN/DAVID installation in external

  • create tarballs for CLHEP and GENSER for the individual granular libraries/subpackages.

  • provide "flexible" download/install for GENSER 1.0.0

  • check/validate the directory structure of all LCG AA projects (checkout and install area)

  • create "LCGAA" pseudo-package for lcg-installation-manager.py to download the binaries of a related set of releases in one go.

status of releases:
