Minutes of the LIM meeting, Nov 17, 2005

Present: Emil Obreshkov (ATLAS), Florence Ranjard (LHCb), Andreas Pfeiffer (SPI)

Apologies: David Quarrie (ATLAS), Vasily Kabachenko (ATLAS), Shahzad Muzaffar (CMS), Eric Poinsignon (SPI)

Actions:

For the porting to gcc344 (ia32 and amd64) some fixes were needed for gccxml, so a new version (0.6.0_patch3) of this package has been installed. Also a new version of CLHEP was released (1.9.2.2), leading to a new configuration proposal (LCG_39) Here is a list of changes for this configuration, as compared to LCG_38. A full list of external packages/versions is available here.

Based on this configuration, a new round of releases is prepared: SEAL 1.7.7, CORAL 1.0.0, POOL 2.2.5, PI 1.3.10 and COOL 1.2.7.

New issues:

A new relase of savannah with some bugfixes will be introduced Dec 2, 2005. A short downtime of the service is expected (planned for 10:00-12:00, hopefully shorter).

LHCb asked for tarballs of binary distributions for the win32_vc71 platform and a symlink to the GENSER_1_2_0 individual tarballs from the external/distributions/ directory (done).

Next meeting: Dec. 1, 11:00.

Action items:

new and outstanding:

  • check status of DAWN/DAVID installation in external

  • create tarballs for CLHEP for the individual granular libraries/subpackages.

  • check/validate the directory structure of all LCG AA projects (checkout and install area)

  • create "LCGAA" pseudo-package for lcg-installation-manager.py to download the binaries of a related set of releases in one go.

status of releases:

  • see above.
