our machine was studied and actually made at CERN in the 1980s. In 1996 PTR (a German company) installed an electron gun with 70 kV and 30 kW together with the corresponding equipment (high voltage generator, power supply, and CNC). The mechanical elements and the low-level electronics are bought from industry and where then installed in the machine (motors, encoders, mechanical positioning,...)
