CCDTL (F. Gerigk)

  • after recent meeting at BINP:
  • shipment: 2 modules could be shipped 20-25 Dec. then they should arrive when CERN opens after the Xmas break
  • corresponding supports should be ready before end of year, and arrive at CERN by end of January,
  • next visit is planned to start 4. February, at the latest one week later,
  • most likely all other modules can be finished before BINP team leaves for CERN,
  • April/May could be the last visit, we should then have some jacks to install structures in the tunnel,

SPL seminar (F. Gerigk)

  • today afternoon and tomorrow

vacuum tests (F. Gerigk)

  • PIMS vacuum tests should be done by end of January,
  • DTL tests on segment should take place in February,
  • 5 pumps are needed for CCDTL in February,
  • 4 (+1) turbo pumps needed in February (3 CCDTL, 1 DTL + 1 maybe for drift tube testing),

DTL (S. Ramberger)

  • Drift Tube parts for replacement 129 should be shipped next week. Last stem for repair of 323 before Christmas.
  • Girders of Tank3: Goialde sent the metrology report with all 4 girders in tolerances apart from one key on one girder that can be compensated.
  • Planning for Tank manufacturing: 3 months delay following the delay of 2.5 months on the heat treatment.
  • Copper plating of tanks: The workshop can do at maximum 1 segment per month in Jan-Mar 2013 (still to be confirmed), for later the sequence still needs to be agreed...
  • First bead-pull measurements on T1S1 have been done. Computer shall be set up with Labview by Mohammad with help from Giovanni.

Jacks (S. Ramberger)

  • A modification of the design of the 2.5t/5t jack housing should make it considerably cheaper: Instead of a base plate and a housing on top, a square hollow section welded on the base plate with the mechanical assembly for the radial jack on top is foreseen.

PIMS (R. Wegner)

  • machining tests on ring G_1-2: surface roughness of Ra=0.9um reached on inside, coaxiality of 20um reached on diameter 524mm and 26um on diameter 538mm on side 1 (specification: coaxiality of 20um on both diameters)
  • decision taken to advance machining of ring G_13-14 to complete the short module.
  • delivery of the short module still hoped for 2012
  • vacuum test of disc G_2-3 finished, reports written and uploaded to EDMS 1243398

TaCo (R. Wegner)

  • TERA asked if the tuner-adjustable waveguide coupler TaCo can be used for switching on/off cavities to power several cavities from a single klystron. Yes it can, a movable tuner insert can be designed especially for this purpose. Ideas have been discussed.

bead-pull (Yves, Rolf):

  • extra special fishing wire was ordered, non-elastic, very homogeneous,
  • now the wire only disturbs within 0.1/0.2 degrees, while the wire before disturbed by ~1 degr

high-power testing (Jose)

  • high-power testing continued during last week-end, but without further mounting of peak power,
  • pick-ups were calibrated all on the pi/2 mode and not on different modes, nevertheless calibration was improved,

FSU (Jose)

  • requested 3 people for 2013: mechanical, electronic, electro-mechanical (2 existing, one more needed),
