news & facts:

  • L4 siting effort: 33 MCHF for new site, 4.2 years building time for CE -> this means DTL should be commissioned in the South Hall, now try to have klystron tunnel on surface and acc tunnel higher up,
  • pims: Yves Cuvet is reserved from Sept/Oct onwards,
  • Rosario Principe (mechanical engineer) to work with us: relations with the workshop,
  • MV ~1MCHF to increase all apertures in the TL so that they can digest the energy spread from the ramping,
  • MV: total structure cost ~12 MCHF, 3.5 pims, 5 ccdtl (8 modules), 3.5 dtl,
  • price estimate for e-beam welding of pims:

decisions taken:

  • FG asked about the price of 15 kCHF assumed for each movable PIMS tuner (ACCEL had quoted 28 kCHF for each tuner), MV confirmed this price by quoting price of the buncher cavity tuners: 4 kCHF for 2 smaller tuner, so 15 k for the pims tuners seems realistic
  • program for WP2 meeting agreed,
  • e-welding pims: the institute that does the prototype should also weld the whole structure due to the high price of the tooling,
  • start soon with P. Bourquin and Yves to discuss mech. approach for pims,
  • number of klystrons: RFQ:1 old, DTL: 2 new, 1 old, CCDTL 7 old, pims: 4 old, 4new, -> 19 klystrons in total,
  • decided to use PIMS for Linac4Web and not the SCL, to be presented at the upcoming HIPPI WP2 meeting,
