India (F. Gerigk)

  • Couplers: CERN accepted multi-layer TIG welds, which are applied to an X-type groove. This means that India can make the couplers.
  • Jacks: a draft addendum was sent to India for comments. The precise number of jacks needed for the transfer line is still open. T. Zickler and the design office will give an answer within 2 weeks (question on redesigned BHZ20).
  • status of material delivery?

Windows (F. Gerigk)

  • brazing of Cu/stainless steel ring should take place today, EBW of this ensemble to the ceramic/Cu part next week,
  • a decision on whether to make a contract with Thales or not has to be taken end of next week

CCDTL (F. Gerigk)

  • Agreement by finance to make a direct contract with BINP for support construction. Now waiting for a written offer from BINP. 3D and 2D drawings have been transferred from CERN to BINP.
  • BINP can also produce the alignment arms, but asked for drawings. Benoit promised drawings within 1 week.
  • Vacuum test at BINP is being prepared, vacuum group is writing a document with the test procedures and needed equipment.
  • grooves need to be modified to allow easier Helium leak testing. (see pictures below)
  • Visit will take place in the first week of August. (E. Page, B. Riffaud, JM. Giguet). operation of Linac4 at 50 MeV, detuning?
  • Helicoflex spares for some joint types might arrive too late for the test.

PIMS (F. Gerigk)

  • drawings for alignment target support have been modified so that IPJ can use the steel profiles, which they have available. Drawings are controlled, archived, and approved and were sent to IPJ.

PIMS (R.Wegner)

  • analysis of 2nd welding test finished (report: https://edms.cern.ch/document/1147633/), re-machined welds are conform to ISO 13919-1, level B. However porosities could be reduced. In a further test, parts will be scrape prior welding.
  • discs for short module are rough machined
  • rings are being rough machined
  • parts for ports are being machined
  • delivery to Julich is foreseen on June 16th, after welding transport to IPJ is planned around July 11th
  • discs and rings for module N are being machined
  • plans to final machine discs and rings of module N before short module is evaluated at CERN are stopped
  • plans to start machining of module M are stopped
  • metrology lab equipped with new windows and air conditioning, radiators are being exchanged

DTL (S. Ramberger)

  • The pre-machined girder T1S1 is currently being completed for delivery in week 24. After some problems on the machine, the final machined girder T1S2 has been announced for week 31.
  • The tank segmemt T1S1 at CADINOX will probably be ready at the metrology stand in week 25 before the final touches are applied. Delivery at CERN is to be expected 3 weeks after the metrology.
  • DMP delivered 45 stainless steel rings for the drift tubes of Tank1, 10 sleeves, 7 pre-machined cores, and 12 stems. Most of the parts show excellent tolerances, scratches on reference surfaces of stems need to be checked and are critical.
  • The design of the first end cover has been completed and is currently being checked. The thermal simulations of the end cover with the longest half drift tube is pending.
