  • send drawings for covers of flanges and for spacers and ask Purushottam to produce these,

  • ask for welding tests, and ask which filler they want to use,

PIMS (R. Wegner)

  • Confirmation that reference surfaces for metrology targets can be circular in shape instead of rectangular (M. Jones, A. Dallocchio, L. Gentini, B. Riffaud). Waiting for decision from NCBJ to select better solution.
  • Quality Assurance Report format for all 5 PIMS elements finished, EDMS 1210268.
  • Warning NCBJ to save a long waveguide ring for module N.
  • Transport of remaining material to NCBJ is being prepared.
  • Meeting on brazing of waveguide rings:
    • For the brazing test, the material needs to be machined to a shape of the ring for a representative test (movement of the copper close to stainless steel flange depends on the copper thickness, thinner material moves more).
    • Quality Assurance documentation has been defined
    • Discussion if in worst case the 12 waveguide rings could be brazed at CERN. Work: ~ 2 weeks per ring, surface treatment should be done at CERN, other machining and thermal treatments could be done at NCBJ.
  • A preliminary metrology report for end disc M_1 has been received https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/SPL/Minutes10May2012/Preliminary_Report_-_End_Disc_M_1_SPLACPMM0002.pdf. Most (relaxed) specifications have been met, all relaxations have been exploit, some slight deviations that should be acceptable. New difficulties seen are the directions of cooling channels: for example channel 1 has an angle of -0.6, channel 2 has an angle of 0.0 towards horizontal plane. At the meeting point at a depth of 227 mm, this tilt produces a displacement of 2.4 mm of the 2 channels (channel diameter 12 mm).
  • Decisions taken: sensibilise Polish colleagues of problems but green light for full machining of end disc M_14 and another disc for module M in order to gain time.
  • Welding of 4 samples for qualification are finished in Julich, 2 rings for NCBJ are scheduled to be welded still this week - before welder goes on holidays.
