• we need to order quickly the material for the complete series of the couplers,
• a shipment of components has arrived at CERN but the case still needs to be opened and its contents verified,

Helicoflex (F. Gerigk)

• difficult to contact Sauvinet even to get a new offer for our next order, another person from Garlock sales will be contacted,
• ISTC was asked to order via Garlock Europe, Sauvinet, joints for ~30 k$,

CCDTL (F. Gerigk)

• do we have M16 eye bolts for the lifting of the CCDTL cavities? -> yes
• ISTC will go through tendering for gaskets,
• draft report of visit on alignment was discussed,
• assembly table arrived (JM), will be measured with a laser tracker,
• internal test results of the leaking Helicoflex samples are now available and need to be discussed with the vacuum group (FG)

Linac4 & general planning (F. Gerigk)

• new L4 plan accepted, 2013 remain at 3 MeV, then increase in 2014 (see todays BCC)
• availability 50 MeV protons from September 2014, current value was not yet given and is said to depend on Q-value of tank 1 (could also use a new klystron), without chopping,
• official shutdown start 11 February, 2 weeks of Xmas stop,

DTL (S. Ramberger)
Tank manufacturing:
- T1S1 completed at CERN
- T1S2 final machining pending approval of water channel repair
- T3S1 heat treatment pending repair
- T3S2 heat treatment ongoing
- T3S3 heat treatment pending repair
- T3S4 heat treatment completed
- T2 pre-machining on-going

Girder manufacturing:
- T1S1 & T1S2 metrology results are OK
Expecting new offers for rest of girders from companies

Drift tubes:
Manufacturing of parts soon to be completed Assembly
- T1 almost completed
- T3 Welds F1 & F2 almost completed, F3 pending requalification of e-beam welding machine after maintenance

DTL Assembly:
- T1S1 copper plating completed.

Jacks (S. Ramberger)

• Changes in design and materials required.
• Housings cannot be cast due to low ductility of cast aluminum.

RF coupler (S. Ramberger)

• All raw materials need to be purchased as they are difficult to be purchased on the market.
• Delivery schedule will depend on the availability of raw materials.

SM18 – Linac4 test stand (R. Wegner)

• 2 Linac4 windows are being tested by Eric Montesinos.

PIMS (R. Wegner)

• Ring M_1-2, problem: tuner port (diameter 63 mm) has a bulge of ~ 1 mm height and would intersect with tuner. Decision was taken to carefully re-machine tuner port (machining ~ 0.5 mm off).
• Ring M_1-2 and M_13-14: tuner ports are displaced and ring is deformed due to EB welding. The displacement itself is no problem, only the remachining of backing needs to be done such that 4 mm of material remain at the position of the welds. 2 solutions: a) to re-centre the ring to guarantee the 4 mm material (the diameters 518.720, 524.720 and 538.720 would all be re-centred to achieve the required coaxiality of 0.02 mm). b) the ring will be deformed to a more circular shape and re-machined. Here an ellipticity with more than 2 Maxima and Minima could occur. Machining tests with the Kaiser tool will be made on ring G_13-14.
• Marek is happy with the subcontractor CPL now, they are quick and providing good quality. 3 to 4 machines are running for the PIMS project.
• Problems with the cleaning: end discs are heavy (~ 100 kg), handling is difficult, pieces need to be moved in the cleaning detergents to pickle all the surface (air bubbles would protect small areas).
• Internal project is being conducted in parallel at the Soltan Institute
• 3 interesting offers have been received by NCBJ for a combined turning-milling machine, installation to be finished in Dec 2012.
• Brazing test finished, piece has arrived at CERN for inspection.
• Metrology procedures took time to be implemented, end discs M_1 and M_14 and disc G_2-3 have been measured now
• Results of the 5th welding qualification with cosmetic pass arrived: The weld is qualified without major problems (X-Ray analysis + metallurgical analysis)
