DTL

  • At this point it is not clear if Bilbao is still going to build LINAC4 DTL drift tube prototypes.
  • Visit to the Schmiedewerke Gröditz GmbH to follow the forging technique for the construction of the 2m long stainless tubes.
  • Power dissipation on the connecting guide between tank and waveguide to be checked with other simulations shifting the input port wall.
  • Beadpull measurements: at the moment the Kevlar thread cannot be used for the measurements. The mechanical system has to be modified ad hoc.
PIMS
  • A meeting has been held with the Soltan Institute for Nuclear Physics, Swierk, Poland regarding the welding tests and the series production of the PIMS. The discussion can be found at https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/SPL/SoltanInstituteMinutes11Jun09. Minutes of the meeting on the buncher cavity are reported here.
  • Construction of a mechanical support for the alignment of the PIMS is under discussion. Each cavity will be supported on 3 feet and the each foot is aligned with a “support box”. Each box will provide horizontal and vertical adjustments. Tambwe Kabunda (EN/MME) will continue the development which was started by Benoit Riffaud. G. Favre will make a cost estimate based on this preliminary work.

Debuncher

  • transient and steady state circuital analysis on a RLC circuit considering the coupling strength beta. Circuital parameters to be fitted with frequency, energy, unloaded Q, beta, voltage.
