CCDTL (F. Gerigk)

  • assembly start foreseen for 4. February,
  • re-start of conditioning of module 2 possible from 4th week of January onwards,
  • alignment of quadrupoles on module 2 starts 2nd week of January -> module must be taken out of the bunker and put into a place where the survey team has access,
  • at the same time the survey of module 3 needs to be made,
  • module 3 should be tested after installation of inter-tanks, because then the cavity can be kept under nitrogen afterwords,
  • JM discussed with Olivier Brunner how the assembly can be arranged in SM18, still to be confirmed with Karl Schirm,

SM18 test place + 3 MeV test place (F. Gerigk)

  • 2nd charger is under repair and will be tested in January prior to the re-start of SM18 (confirmed by David Nisbet),
  • confirmation that PO will fix the large droop currently observed with the Indian modulator
  • a 2nd control unit is available, so that in February both test places can operate in parallel,
  • the conditioning start of the RFQ is foreseen to start on February 4th, (last week before shutdown, Carlo and Maurizio are informed that this will be a stressful week, where the LRF team will have limited availability),

vacuum pumps (F. Gerigk)

  • an additional turbo pumping group was ordered 50% on structure budget and 50% on L4 general budget,
  • 2 turbo pumps for the CCDTL high-power tests will be replaced

movable tuners (F. Gerigk)

  • no news, sent a request for an update on the cleaning of the latest set of samples
  • all pieces fabricated to adapt to Lucas control, tuners will be modified once the 3 MeV test stand is moved to the tunnel (Yves)
  • after discussion with Luca: for Linac4 all cabling for the tuners is now identical and will be implemented as such for Linac4, also for the RFQ, all interfaces with Luca defined (Jose)

technical students + FSUs (F. Gerigk)

  • Daniel Winsvold will start on 1. February to work with Jose
  • for the moment the complement of 3 FSUs for 2013 is confirmed, 1.5 of those are for Linac4 related work

PIMS (R. Wegner)

  • Marek is preparing a cost estimate for the support spacers and shims for the PIMS section of Linac4. The first 3 spacers and shims for the first PIMS cavity can be at CERN in April. The following parts will be delivered together with each cavity.
  • no news from machining ring G_13-14 so far. That means that the short module will be delivered in January.
  • a meeting at CERN will be organised end of February to get a planning for the whole series and to show the Polonaises the progress of Linac4.
