General News (F. Gerigk)

• LS1 will start November 2012 for 20 months for the LHC (summer 2014), beam for physics in November 2014,
• injectors will start in the beginning of 2014, no connection of Linac4
• since outside contracts need to be made now, it is not very likely that the shutdown dates will change, however it is not impossible and there are rumors that physicists will ask for more time,
• Linac4 should be ready for connection in June 2014, PSB could also be ready with H- injection for this date

Budgets (F. Gerigk)

• despite increase in Cu cost for PIMS and underestimated cost of couplers we are still in budget because of: in-house development of windows, overestimated price of movable tuners and supports, collaboration with India.

Linac4 windows (F. Gerigk)

• French ILO questions, that we compare CERN construction cost with manufacturing cost in industry (specifically Thales) and questions that our construction standards are as strict as the ones in industry. reply by MV to A. Unnervik and meeting with T. Lagrange explained the situaton

• BINP made a design change on the slots, which allow moving the cavities back and forth, verified by MME
• preparation of material delivery is ongoing, more details needed for packing list
• vacuum group is now in direct contact with Alexey
• -> packets are ready to be loaded, we make a request for exportation,

• transport of material for 2 prototype couplers started,

• Karl contacted Sauvignet but without a clear answer yet,

DTL (S. Ramberger)

• The girder T1S1 has been re-machined on all surfaces with a shaping machine. Next week the drift tube holes will be machined to the final diameter.
• On the drift tube faces steps of 0.01mm have been found that connect the inner diameter and the drift tube flat. This error reappeared after a pre-series that did not show this defect. DMP has been informed and is checking the case.

SM18 – Linac4 test stand (R. Wegner)

• Klystron high voltage tank is installed and has been connected this week to the modulator. High power test of the klystron are planned in the next weeks. During maintenance work for the LHC (December to February) there will be very little time to work in SM18.

PIMS (R. Wegner)

• Soltan Institut: The 2 rings of the short module have arrived at Julich. Welding of the tuner and RF ports is planned to start next week.

PIMS (P. Ugena-Tirado)

• Tuning islands have been simulated to find precise tuning curves. In order to minimize the work for the 12 different modules, interpolations are used based on the simulation of modules 2, 6 and 12. The Interpolation function work well. They can be applied for tuning process. See presentation attached Interpolation.pptx.
