  • 2nd side of disc G_2-3 with an overlength of 0.5 mm finished. Most tolerances have been met. Disc will be machined to final dimensions now.
  • Problem found on supports, materials will be revised
  • NCBJ search for subcontractors having a lathe suited for the PIMS production is continuing, 3 Polish companies have been contacted.
  • NCBJ is working on the option to purchase a vertical lathe, particularly for the PIMS production
  • The X-ray tests of the 2 Rings G_1-2 and G_13-14 could not confirm that the welds are conform to specifications. A detailed investigation will be done at CERN.
  • director Pawel Krawczyk confirmed that efforts are made to buy a turning machine, and also that the PIMS now has the highest priority at the Soltan Institute.
  • Tadeusz has recently visited the Soltan Institute and inquired about the production status.

PIMS (P. Ugena-Tirado)

  • The second note on the PIMS tuning procedure will be finished by the end of next week, in order to prepare the IPAC publication.
