F. Gerigk, S. Ramberger, R. Wegner, P. Ugena-Tirado

CCDTL (F. Gerigk)

  • Alexey on holidays until end of August,
  • delivery of pumping equipment to BINP is prepared, waiting for green light from Novosibirsk to send it off
  • transfer of funds from DTL ISTC projects is still pending, further steps after the summer break,
  • discussed with vacuum group possibility of asking BINP for a pumping group, which could be paid for by the transferred ISTC funds. They support the idea but said that the control unit should be delivered by CERN. J.Hansen is preparing a list of components which would need to be purchased.

Coupler + Window (F. Gerigk)

  • technical specifications are approved,
  • asked for a new “devis” from Nozag for the inner components, order will go out soon after,

Jacks (F. Gerigk)

  • technical specs went through engineering check, approval round is launched,

SPL (F. Gerigk)

  • next SPL collaboration meeting will take place on December 8,9

DTL (S. Ramberger)

  • CERN received a prototype girder and a rough machined girder T1S1 for metrology. DMP supplied the second delivery of drift tube parts for about 10 drift tubes.

PIMS (R. Wegner)

  • Welding test not successful (see report https://edms.cern.ch/document/1155556): Penetration of weld into aluminium table, holes on surface too deep (more than 0.4 mm), too many porosities in upper 4 mm.
Further studies have been undertaken in Julich, good results in their OFE copper.
Material for a 4th test is being sent; machining of the pieces will be done in Julich.
  • IPJ: A collaboration with another section of IPJ could be set up for cleaning the discs and rings according to the CERN procedure. The first ring has been cleaned and packed immediately. No oxidation seen according to Marcin after a week.
  • IPJ: The final machining of the 3 discs for the short module will start as the cleaning works. Rings and port of the short module are ready for welding. Just waiting for the qualification in Juelich.
  • IPJ: Problem of furnace solved (controller was not working for temperatures below 600 degrees). Test are ongoing for the thermal treatment of the waveguide ring.

PIMS (P. Ugena-Tirado)

  • IPAC paper final version already sent
  • The simulations on the tuning ring heights and interpolation routine continue.
