news & facts:
DTL cold model
the machining of the DTL cold model in Saudi Arabia is completed, after measuring and writing a certificate with all tolerances and measured values the the model will be sent by plane to CERN (arrival time: ~in three weeks),
the manufacturing company (Alfanar Moulds) has a contract with KASCT and would be ready to work on the hot model,
the DTL holder was damaged during machining but the company found a supplier of Anticorodal in Saudi Arabia and replaced the piece,
they are ready to machine additional pieces if needed,
price tag: ~20 k¤,
once the model is here we should try to make an article for the CERN bulletin,
there are no extra holes foreseen for the RF pick-ups, we will use some of the post-coupler holes for pick-ups,
usually people adjust all post-coupler to be at the same distance from the drift tubes, according to simulations the distance should not be the same but we do not have a tuning procedure for this yet,
PIMS
cost estimate for PIMS cold model (CERN workshops) will be ready by end August,
calculations for two additional 3-cell cold models with different coupling factors are on-going,
CCDTL
re-calculation with Superfish is on its way, now the influence of the stems on the frequency is included, energy gain and phasing was verified, should be verified with a beam-dynamics code like PATH
