news & facts:
- RW, MV: waveguide losses: 1% in straight waveguides, 2.3% in circulators, +~1% in bends: ~5%,
- MP reported trouble on adjusting the frequencies in the CCDTL simulation model (2 half cavities plus one coupling cell) at 100 MeV, probably caused by different meshing when tuning the frequency in the coupling cell,
- transition CCDTL to PIMS is not yet clear, either one uses 5-cell, 1 MW SDTL type structures at the high-energy end, or just 2 coupled CCDTL cavities with 3 drift tubes, or one could exchange the last CCDTL against a PIMS but PIMS has lower ZTT,
decisions taken:
- FG: from AFT: SF6 in 2.5 MW circulators, GSI is going to try without in their test stand, same procedure for us
- we assume that 0.8 of superfish is maybe realistic for the DTL but already pessimistic for CCDTL and PIMS, for the time being we assume a factor of 0.8 for all structures,
