General

• 3 students from Poland are arriving on 01/07/09. They will stay for 3 months and are supposed to their diploma thesis on a SPL related subject. 2 of them will join the Linac4 RF team.
• 1 person is coming with Spanish Training Program in October, probably working on the PIMS.

DTL

• DTL Stainless steel tube purchasing is cheaper than expected.
• Power dissipation on the connecting guide between tank and waveguide checked with 2 simulation codes: 35 W/cm2 maximum power density (CW).
• Beadpull measurements: bead pulling system for kevlar wire in construction; measurement repeatability shows error lower than 0.3% on the field peak value; the choice of the reference phase is crucial to exclude the wire noise from the integral calculation.

HOM

• First results of transverse beam dynamic studies with dipole modes. The observed BBU limit beside a machine line is at Q_ex=10⁸ with very conservative assumtions.
• Results up to now will be presented at the SPL HOM workshop tomorrow.
