LINAC4

  • Siemens experts will deliver a paper on the LINAC4 risks (first time@CERN)
  • A workshop with German University has been held: German Gouvernement provides money to the Universities to work on the accelerator subjects. From last years proposals 2 SPL related subjects were accepted. This year the focus is on light sources and more generic research which should not be bound to a specific project or institute.
  • Buncher cavity
    • Soltan institut will deliver it with some delay

DTL

  • TILT in the electric field (20% with PCs)
    • Cavity diameter measured: 52.12cm
    • End wall checked
    • Grid and RF port checked by putting a copper foil on the apertures. NO change in the field.
    • The TUNERS cannot affect the E field: simulations were done on this subject (length too short)
    • The Helicoflex joints were changed to the final ones and NO change in the E field has been observed. (of course they brought to the higher Q-value as expected: Q=33700, freq=352.22MHz, PCs ON)

Power Splitter - Magic T

  • Heights for the middle post in order to have different power ratio have been found.

PIMS

  • Drawings to be changed-Luca Gentini (EN-MME) is the new designer in charge of these drawings.
