CCDTL (F. Gerigk)

  • received green light to ship pumping equipment, Alexey asked today for the shipping papers and sent him the EDH request and material list,
  • Jan Hansen is preparing a component list for a pumping group, which could be bought and assembled by BINP.
  • JMG verified that all sizes of the PMQ and alignment target supports are more than + 2mm larger than needed, following the request by Alexey.
  • JMG has ordered all material for CCDTL support.

Jacks (F. Gerigk)

  • DR and order for NOZAG jacks went out, delivery within 4-6 weeks,
  • no news from India,

Couplers (F. Gerigk)

  • Erics comments were not included in the technical specification document, which went out for approval. Started to do the corrections.
  • JMG: all material for 2 Indian prototypes is ready for delivery,
  • organic seals should not be used for storage, if longer than a year,
  • as additional protection the vacuum group proposed to put a shrink-wrap under vacuum and also to have nitrogen on the inside,

Vacuum gauges (F. Gerigk)

  • In a small meeting with Philippe Baudrenghien, Rolf Wegner, Luca Arnaudon, Frank Gerigk it was established that we need to have a vacuum reading from each cavity. This would be used for automatic re-conditioning of the cavities in case of a start-up after breaking the vacuum in Linac4.
  • In a second meeting (Jan Hansen, Frank Gerigk) Jan confirmed that this was not foreseen and added that it might be quite costly. Most likely there is no budget foreseen in the vacuum group for this expense (5-7 kCHF per gauge + accessories). Jan Hansen will prepare a costing and discuss within the vacuum group.
  • J. Hansen added that the interlock signal for a “generally bad vacuum” is usually given by the pumps (e.g. in Linac2) and this is what they prefer to give as interlock signal. They can of course provide a gauge signal in addition (at a price).
  • In LInac2 there is no automatic re-conditioning and there are only 3 cavities (not 20+)

DTL (S. Ramberger)

  • Metrology results after correction of tank T1S1 of CADINOX are expected on Monday 29 August 2011.
  • Supplier of girder T1S2 is currently blocked as we are waiting for metrology results of the short prototype girder from CERN metrology. They are expected for Monday 29 August 2011.
  • Further 10 drift tube sets (without stems - required later) from DMP arrived at CERN on 12 August 2011.
  • Welding of the first batch of 9 drift tubes to start on 30 August 2011.
