- a contract addendum was signed for the material delivery for the support frame, which should ease the customs procedures in Russia,
- vacuum tests with the CERN pumping group have started and are ongoing, however, because of safety regulations the pump has to be switched off at night,
- Garlock announced that most likely 45 of the stem joints will be ready next week. JM and Jan Hansen will drive to Garlock to pick them up.
Collaboration with ESS-Bilbao (F. Gerigk)
- ESS Bilbao was asking if there are more items they could contribute to Linac4, Frank and Suitbert sent some suggestions,
Rostock University (F. Gerigk)
- may be interested to work on a multi-pacting code and to ask the German ministry for funding. FG is collecting information to motivate this work
DTL (S. Ramberger)
- The girder machining at the Dutch company could not be completed as the machine has lost its precision after an incident. The pre-machined girder will be sent to metrology in order to see if in principle the required tolerances can be achieved.
- Further drift tube parts have been received from DMP.
SM18 – Linac4 test stand (R. Wegner)
- Modulator ready, gun tank filled with oil, filament tank cleaned to be filled with new oil
- Klystron test will start in the week starting with Nov. 7th
PIMS (R. Wegner)
- Pickups of 1st ring welded, 2nd ring is being treated now. Organisation of a visit for brazing experts to participate in the brazing of the RFQ flanges. Green light from Gilles, date is not fixed yet.
