B2hhFit - ROOT software status

Useful info

lxplus [ganga]

  • Managed to compile against ROOT 5.21.02: shows problem with dataset deletion (bug posted by danilo and fixed?)
  • Fit code to be submitted with ganga needs to be compiled with ia32
    • In order to compile against slc4_ia32_gcc34 the makefile needs to be modified adding the -m32 option
  • To submit a root job with ganga
    • lbcmt
    • export CMTCONFIG=slc4_ia32_gcc34
    • GangaEnv LAST
    • ganga

  • Will use the current setup to submit jobs on dirac3 for bias studies

laptop

  • ROOT managed with svn (latest)
  • Will try to use ganga to submit to DIRAC3 [just as a backup for Bias studies]

pcsarti2 [development]

  • ROOT managed with svn (latest)
  • Managed to generate full dataset without crash. Need to crosscheck fix on ui01-lcg
  • ganga missing. only interactive sessions/development for now

ui01-lcg [edg + ganga]

  • Installing latest ROOT
    • Downloaded and installed in /storage/gpfs_lhcb/lhcb_user/asarti/software/root
    • Need to give the afs path to gsl when configuring in order to have mathmore
  • Compiling B2hhFit
    • Required the update of the scripts (now we are under gpfs)
  • Setup for the fit submission with glite-wms ( edg commands deprecated!* )
    • To know available grid stuff : lcg-infosites --vo lhcb wms
    • To compile use Recompi.sh
    • The command for the job submissions are in NewCommands.csh
      • voms-proxy-init -voms lhcb -valid 150:00
      • ./SubGridFit.pl -myJdl SubFit.jdl -flag <mylog> -njob 300
      • ./ScanLog.pl -myLog <mylog> [--help]
      • ./AnaScript.pl -path SimSta_BS -sub SimSta_BS_codeO -epsd eps_SimSta_BS_code0
  • Will try to submit glite-wms jobs with latest ROOT to crosscheck Sim fit with 2fb-1 feasibility
  • Ganga Setup can be achieved by adding the $LHCBSCRIPTS path to the current $PATH after GangaEnv

Obtain a result from toy MC studies on 2fb-1 for the sim fit

  • Fix the bug on the MC generation in several steps (allows 2fb-1 generation)
    • DONE: the generation works without problems. Ready to submit a full stat study (500 jobs) 2fb-1 Sim fit. The tagged version that accomplished that is v6r1
