Comparison of b-jet performance between geometry tags ATLAS-GEO-02-00-00 and ATLAS-GEO-06-00-00

Below are the light-jet rejections for several different taggers obtained with data simulated with geometry tags ATLAS-GEO-02-00-00 and ATLAS-GEO-06-00-00.

These figures were obtained by running with release 15.0.0 over a samples of about 12000 ttbar events with JetTagAna_RTT.py.

JetTagAna is an offline tool used to check b-tagging performance for many different taggers.

HLT taggers (L2IP2D, L2IP3D, EFIP2D, EFIP3D) were added some time ago by the TAPM b-jet slice.

Datasets used:

  • valid1.105200.T1_McAtNlo_Jimmy.recon.AOD.e380_s511_r633_tid043071 (ATLAS-GEO-06-00-00)
  • valid1.105200.T1_McAtNlo_Jimmy.recon.AOD.e380_s513_r634_tid043089 (ATLAS-GEO-02-00-00)

The weight for each tagger for the 50% and 60% efficiency points are given.

The figures for the HLT taggers are very similar and with two exceptions (L2IP2D at 50% b-tag efficiency and L2IP3D at 50% b-tag efficiency) are statistically consistent. Thus, according to this basic metric, b-jet trigger performance does not appear to be adversely affected by the change of geometry tag.
