Foreword

This page is dedicated to the analyses relative to the measurement of the electric and magnetic dipole moments (EDM and MDM, respectively) of baryons at LHCb. The concept and prospects of the analyses are presented in this document.

Overview

Permanent electric dipole moments of fundamental particles provde powerful probes for physics beyond the Standard Model. The strong magnetic field of the LHCb experiment can be used to induce spin precession of baryons that decay inside of it, thus allowing to measure both the EDM and the MDM of this particle. Additionally, a test of the CPT symmetry can be performed by comparing the MDMs of the and baryons.
