# Brian Francisco - b' analysis

Total events for b' mass of 650 GeV/c2 = 96,377

Total events for b' mass of 800 GeV/c2 = 103,365

We selected b'b' → bbHH → bbbbbb events by imposing condition of nbpartons = 6.

mb' = 650 GeV → 17,073 events → ( impose that b partons have pT > 30 GeV and |eta| < 2.4 ) → 9,521 events

mb' = 800 GeV → 18,149 events → ( impose that b partons have pT > 30 GeV and |eta| < 2.4 ) → 10,986 events

We then selected from these events the events in which there is 1 distinct jet matched to each b parton.

Restricted to events with 6 or 7 jets

mb' = 650 GeV → 5,493 events

mb' = 800 GeV → 5,864 events

Jets matched via ΔR < 0.3, with ΔR defined as √(Δφ2 + Δη2)

b partons matched to either 1 or 2 jets, and jets matched to either 0 or 1 b parton.

mb' = 650 GeV → 2,480 events

mb' = 800 GeV → 2,355 events

We then progressively applied the "loose" b-tagging requirement (Combined Secondary Vertex; >= 0.244)

 b' mass 650 GeV b' mass 800 GeV > 0 bjet 2480 events 2354 events > 1 bjet 2470 events 2345 events > 2 bjet 2391 events 2274 events > 3 bjet 2048 events 1971 events > 4 bjet 1358 events 1232 events > 5 bjet 489 events 410 events

We then plotted the Ht of each event, the pT of the 4th highest pT and lowest pT jet in each event, and the total number of jets per event.

## Event Acceptance

b' mass for events is 650 GeV, total events 96,377. 17,073 events with 6 b partons.

Event acceptance tested by removing b parton requirement. Events were chosen as:

• Require 6 or 7 jets with pT > 30 and |eta| < 2.4 ( 45,103 events)
• Require 4 or more jets to meet "loose" CSV b-tagging cut (bdisc >= 0.244) ( 16,691 events)
• 4th highest pT jet in event must have pT > 80
• Lowest pT jet in event must have pT > 40
Events after cuts outlined above: 8,711

A second study:

• Require 6 or 7 jets with pT > 30 and |eta| < 2.4 ( 45,103 events)
• Require 6 jets to meet "loose" CSV b-tagging cut (bdisc >= 0.244)
• 4th highest pT jet in event must have pT > 80
• Lowest pT jet in event must have pT > 40
Events after cuts outlined above: 735

Then we removed the jet pT requirements and simply made an Ht cut of Ht > 800 on both 4 b-jet and 6 b-jet events. (Again, b-jets via CSV >0.244)

Events with 4 b-jets and Ht > 800: 15,788

Events with 6 b-jets and Ht > 800: 1,278
