Isolation cut.
A. standalone muons: DT, CSC, RPC ("muon spectrometer"). in addition possibly beam spot to improve resolution.
[3.8.2011] hard interaction vertex = primary vertex with largest track sum(pT). primary vertex stems from pp collision point, unlike secondary vertex e.g. from decay
[3.8.2011] pile-up = function(beam intensity/density and beta-function(transverse beam size, NOT # of bunches)). instantaneous lumi = function(all 3) does not depend on number of bunches, only on instantaneous lumi
[1.8.2011] Htautau analysis: QCD and ttbar background: Pythia. Z-production: powheg. (Madgraph?). Polarization properties of tau decays: Tauola
[1.8.2011] |eta|<2.1 for muons with p>20 GeV/c: due to trigger acceptance, threshold 17 GeV. |eta|<2.4 for muons with p>10 GeV/c: due to muon system acceptance. Lower mom muon could also trigger.
[1.8.2011] Higgs does not couple to massless particles.

Oscar Stal (through Andreas): slides at https://indico.desy.de/getFile.py/access?contribId=3&resId=0&materialId=slides&confId=4078 To summarize: In NMSSM scenarios Higgs Bosons can be lighter than the Z and as low as 40 GeV. In that case Higgs can be detected in SUSY cascades. The BR into bbbar for such H_1 is 100%. The general properties lead to selection cuts that are rather similar as RA2b (or also RA4b): page 17, including a very high MET cut.
