How to run BPHY4 derivation code

First Create your directory
mkdir BPHY4_derivation
cd BPHY4_derivation
Then setup Athena

mkdir 20.1.5.4
cd 20.1.5.4/
asetup 20.1.5.4,here,AtlasDerivation,gcc48
Then setup needed tools
cmt co -r JpsiUpsilonTools-00-02-12 PhysicsAnalysis/JpsiUpsilonTools
cmt co -r TrkVertexAnalysisUtils-00-03-05  Tracking/TrkVertexFitter/TrkVertexAnalysisUtils
cmt co -r TrkVKalVrtFitter-00-07-05        Tracking/TrkVertexFitter/TrkVKalVrtFitter
cmt co PhysicsAnalysis/DerivationFramework/DerivationFrameworkBPhys
cmt co PhysicsAnalysis/DerivationFramework/DerivationFrameworkCore 
cmt co Event/xAOD/xAODBPhys
cmt co -r  xAODMetaDataCnv-00-00-05  Event/xAOD/xAODMetaDataCnv
cmt co -r  xAODMetaData-00-00-06  Event/xAOD/xAODMetaData
Now setup your workarea ..
setupWorkArea.py

Now you need to config and compile all..
cd WorkArea/cmt
cmt bro cmt config
cmt bro gmake

Now you are ready to go , go inside your run directory.

cd ../run
run your derivation

Reco_tf.py --maxEvents=-1 --inputAODFile /disk/lustre/atlas/asc/xAOD/mc15_13TeV.361203.Pythia8_A2_MSTW2008LO_ND_minbias.merge.AOD.e3639_s2601_s2132_r6843_r6264_tid05736188_00/AOD.05736188._003209.pool.root.1 --outputDAODFile output.pool.root --reductionConf BPHY4

How to run on Grid

you can create submit script as below

Ntuple Maker

First Setup the ATLAS software portal and a RootCore release in a working directory;


mkdir WorkDir
cd WorkDir

setupATLAS

rcSetup Base,2.3.22

kinit user@CERN.CH (replace user with you)

Checkout our analysis code from SVN:

svn co svn+ssh://user@svn.cern.ch/reps/atlasinst/Institutes/Birmingham/Run2BPhysics/HadronicDecays (again, replace user with you)
Checkout additional packages:

rc checkout HadronicDecays/share/packages.txt

rc find_packages

Compile the code:

rc compile
Now make a Run directory somewhere and run as RunAnalysis Your_DAOD_datafile_path/ Your_output_Ntuple_filename

mkdir Run
cd Run

RunAnalysis root://eosatlas//eos/atlas/user/z/zuysal/DAOD_MC_Nisan_13TeV/user.zuysal/  charm_mc15_13TeV.361203.Pythia8_A2_MSTW2008LO_ND_minbias.merge.AOD.e3639_a782_a787_r6264_BPHY4.root

First Results

First result for 25M event MC15 minbias events :

The left one is the reconstructed mass od D*0 (Kpi gamma) and the right one is the Mass difference between D*0 and D0. The peaks are observed at expected places and they are consistent with the PDG values.

Used Samples for Run1

Two Minbias MC sample is used for R1 analysis. Statistics was not enough for us. So we continue with Run2 samples.

  • low-pT D mesons (>3 GeV):
