Accessing DS-Proto data
============

1. make sure you are registered in the darkside group of the gitlab of IN2P3, https://gitlab.in2p3.fr/darkside

2. whenever you run from (e.g. your laptop, ``lxplus``, CNAF...), export your SSH key to https://gitlab.in2p3.fr/profile/keys following the instructions on https://gitlab.in2p3.fr/help/ssh/README#generating-a-new-ssh-key-pair

At CERN
-------

3. go on https://account.cern.ch/account, click on "My accounts", click on "Services..." and activate - if not done already - the following:
- email
- LXPLUS and Linux
- AFS Workspaces
- EOS/CERNBox

4. visit https://cernbox.cern.ch from your browser; in this way, your CERNBox space (like Dropbox, but free - 1 TB, synced on EOS - see below) will be automatically created

5. to login to LXPLUS::

ssh -XY yourusername@lxplus.cern.ch

your CERNBox space will be available under ``/eos/user/yourletter/yourusername``

6. to access the DS-proto data, you must go to https://e-groups.cern.ch and register to the e-groups ``eos-experiment-re37-readers`` and ``re37-computing``; once you get the approval email, it will take about 20' to have the permissions propagated

7. data are under ``/eos/experiment/re37/data/dsproto/dsproto_2019_X_raw`` (X = jun, nov) and their physics content is explained under https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Sandbox/DarkSideProto0 ; they can be accessed remotely with the path ``root://eospublic.cern.ch//eos/experiment/re37/data/dsproto_2019_X_raw``

8. to try Jupyter as a convenient web-based interface with access to data on EOS, follow the instructions for SWAN in the backup slides of https://agenda.infn.it/event/20099/contributions/105717/attachments/68449/84571/20191112_DSSW_Napoli.pdf

9. the calibration database is under ``/eos/experiment/re37/data/dsproto_nov2019_reco/calib/latest.db``

At CNAF
-------

3. data (MIDAS data and ODB database dump files) are stored under

Disk@CNAF: srm://storm-fe-ams.cr.cnaf.infn.it:8444/darksidedisk/data/dsproto_2019_X_raw/
Tape@CNAF: srm://storm-fe-archive.cr.cnaf.infn.it:8444/darksidetape/data/dsproto_2019_X_raw/
