Changing Clock Source

  • The RCMS system chooses automatically the right clock source at the moment the system is configured. For this to work the dropdown menu "next clock source" must be in "Automatic".
  • If the state of LHC changes so that the clock might become unstable the RCMS GUI is issueing a warning. If the clock should be changed do the follwoing:
    1. ) Stop the run
    2. ) Halt all systems (with the global Halt button)
    3. ) Make sure that the drop down menu "next clock source" is on Automatic (exception: if you must force the clock source to a specific value (shift leaders decision) you choose the corresponding value.)
    4. ) Configure all subsystems; HCAL and ECAL need to be red-recycled.
    5. ) Start
