MC matching
Same as
HTT MC matching twiki, with two differences (since all tau-related corrections are calculated starting from
NanoAODs so we stay aligned to
NanoAODs):
- we require a dR<0.3 match (instead of 0.2) between genParticle and reco::Tau
- we require a minimum deltaPt for the match: < 1.0 for hadronic tau products matching, < 0.5 for e&mu matching. The deltaPt is computed as (gen_pT - reco_pT) / gen_pT , see
here

Baseline selections
General: Offline leptons are required to be matched to a trigger leg of the same type, to be kinematically accessible for the trigger(s) that fired and to be at the efficiency plateau computed as a function of the corresponding trigger leg: each offline object should have
pT > pT_HLTthreshold + offset
where offset = 1 GeV for muons, 1 GeV for electrons and 5 GeV for tauh.

Jets selection
bjet candidates requirements: pT > 20 GeV and abs(eta) < 2.4(2.5) for 2016 (2017/18), Tight jetID, Loose pileupID for jets with pt < 50 GeV
VBF jet candidates requirements: pT > 30 GeV and abs(eta) < 4.7, Tight jetID, Loose pileup ID for jets with pt < 50 GeV
2017 noisy jet cleaning: remove jets that have 20 < pt < 50 && abs(eta) > 2.65 && abs(eta) < 3.139
Jets sorting: The b-jets chosen are the two jets with the highest HH-Btag score, while among the remaining jets all possible pairs are built and the pair with highest invariant mass is chosen as the VBF-jets pair.
