Each official Higgs PAG site pledged 30 TB of disk space solely for Higgs PAG use. The requests for data subscription, either real data skims or MC, can be issued by any Higgs group convener, including sub-group conveners (consensus between all 7 is always assumed). The requests should be communicated to the site contact people listed in this table. Currently, we try to make sure that each dedicated Higgs sample is kept at at least two sites to ensure uninterrupted availability of samples in case of an occasional downtime of any particular site. In addition, there are a number of Tier-2 centers very actively involved in Higgs work, including production and storage of MC samples; among these are T2-US-UCSD, T2-US-Caltech, T2-US-Florida.

Post-PTDR results (2008 and onward)

Combination WW+ZZ, Impact of 14→10 TeV Running at 10 TeV requires about 2 times larger integrated luminosity to reach the same sensitivity for SM Higgs. Exclusion of SM Higgs boson with mH~160-170 GeV requires ~200 pb-1 at 10 TeV Link
H→ZZ→4l With 1 fb-1 at 14 TeV, discovery of a SM Higgs boson is out of reach. The 95CL exclusion is possible in the mass range of about 190-230 GeV Link
H→WW→2l2v With 1 fb-1 at 14 TeV, discovery is possible for a SM Higgs boson with mH~160-170 GeV. The 95CL exclusion is possible in the mass range 140-200 GeV Link
VBF H→ττ→l+τhad+MET With 1 fb-1 at 14 TeV, neither discovery nor 95CL exclusion of a SM Higgs boson possible. Exclusion is possible on anomalous x-section σ/σSM~10 in mass range 115-135 GeV Link

Planned analyses for 2009-2010 Run data

The 2009-2010 run is expected to be have collisions at a c.o.m. energy 10 TeV and deliver an integrated luminosity of 200 fb-1 per experiment. The analyses listed below have a potential for producing publishable results, for which they should be either competitive or better than the Tevatron+LEP limits projected for 2010. These analyses are required to have dedicated web pages with the following recommended template. The list is still being formed. If you think that there is an analysis that must be on the list, but not there, please let the conveners know. The first complete version is expected to be ready by June 2009 CMS week. The paper titles given below are formulated in terms of a null search result (200 fb-1 at 10 TeV are not likely to bring a discovery of the SM or MSSM Higgs bosons), but surprises are always possible. If the Nature is kind to us and we see a significant excess of events in any of these channels, we should be ready to flip the paper titles, e.g. the first paper in the list might become Evidence for a narrow γγ-resonance with a mass 120±2 GeV/c2 produced with high transverse momenta in proton-proton collisions at center of mass energy 10 TeV .
  • Full MC-based analysis notes (CMSSW 2x or 3x MC samples) should be prepared by the September 2009 (CMS week in Bologna).
  • Drafts of data papers in a form ready for submitting them for publication in 2010 ( 200 fb-1 or earlier) should be ready by the September CMS week as well.
