LogBook for the Radiation effects on the CMS Electronics

This is the ElectronicsRadiationDamage twiki mostly prepared by Mario Calderón (Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador). Supervisor: Edgar Carrera

5.07.2013: First approach

After a period of time of studying the radiation phenomena on electronic devices, a first possible approach is suggested to characterize and review the different electronic components. For this purpose, the GEANT4 system has been selected for the simulations on radiation effects. The first simulation (to be completed soon) consists on charged hadrons (protons in primary interactions) that collide in a silicon box with dimensions for a Virtex-6 FPGA in an LHC environment. The particle characteristics are taken from the FLUKA results performed by other students: * HCALRadiationProject

Here, you can find introductory documents on the Radiation for particle accelerators (specifically for the HCAL Electronics).
