Single beam optics simulations
Lattice design
List of simulations, related to the lattice design phase, that are required for the validation of the FCC-ee optics.
- Design FCC-ee optical and geometrical lattice
The current FCC-ee lattice is a highly complex lattice combining multiple techniques from different fields of linear and circular collider physics. Further simulations are required to better understand the lattice and explore alternative designs with more than 2 IPs.
Determine tolerances of chromaticity, dispersion, and coupling at the IPs
The effect of beam-beam on the optics is highly dependent on chromatic aberrations, dispersion and coupling at the interaction points. Tolerances on these quantities need to be studied and defined.
- Perform off-momentum optics optimization
- Validate optics with machine errors (misalignments, rotations, gradient errors, ..)
Currently available codes: SAD, MAD-X (tilted solinoid almost finished), PTC,
Calculate emittance from lattice design
- bare lattice
- with machine errors
- with intra-beam scattering and space charge
- evaluate synchro-beta emittance
