clia - command line interface agent

FRU - field replaceable unit

IPMI - intelligent platform management interface

IPMB - intelligent platform management bus

Commands used for Network Configuration

Command Parameters Description
getenv   Gets value of environment variable
ifconfig   Prints the configuration
setenv rc_ifconfig y   Allows the /etc/rc script to set up the IP address instead of shelfman (this is how we allowed the IP address to be assigned to eth0)
clia setlanconfig channel

parameter name or number

additional parameters

Sets the value of the LAN configuration parameter for the specified channel
clia setlanconfig 1 dft_gw_ip ip address Sets default gateway IP of SM eth0
clia setlanconfig 1 ip ip address Sets IP address of SM eth0

Board Commands

Command Parameters Description
clia board   Get standard information about all boards in the shelf
clia board -v physical slot address Get verbose information about a board in physical slot
clia activate board physical slot number Activates specified board
clia deactivate board physical slot number Deactivates specified board

Fan Commands

Command Parameters Description
clia setfanpolicy fan tray address

fan tray fru_id

ENABLE/DISABLE

Enables/Disables SM control over fan trays for colling management purposes
clia getfanpolicy fan tray address

fan tray fru_id

Retrieves information about fan tray(s) control mode and/or FRUs coverage by the specified fan tray(s)
clia setfanlevel   Sets a new level for the fan controlled by the FRU specified in the command parameters

Threshold Commands

Command Parameters Description
clia getthreshold   Shows current threshold values for the supported thresholds of the specified sensor(s)
clia setthreshold IPMB address

Changes current threshold value. Threshold type: upper_non_recoverable, upper_critical, upper_non_crittical, lower_non_recoverable, lower_critical, lower_non_critical. Option -r means that a raw value is used, usually a byte-size quantity, converted according to sensor-specific rules

Sensordata Commands

Command Parameters Description
clia sensordata   Shows value of threshold-based sensor and asserted states for discrete sensor
clia showunhealthy   Shows list of FRUs that appears to have a problem
clia shelf -v cooling_state Verbose current cooling state of shelf: normal, minor alert, major alert, critical alert

Alarm Commands

Command Parameters Description
clia alarm clear

If enter without parameters, returns status. Minor/Major/Critical allows user to set corresponding alarm output, actions are cumulative
