Constraining the gluon pdf using Z+jets

We wish to perform measurement(s) in the Z+jets channel with an aim to constrain the gluon pdf. In the inclusive Z+jets production, there are contributions from processes initiated by either quarks or both quar and gluon. It is expected that the contribution from the qg process will be significantly more than the qq process, owing to the larger gluon flux at the LHC. Hence we can construct observables that take advantage of this fact and enable us to constrain the gluon pdf. We will like to work in the di-muon channel due to a relatively "cleaner" measurement and lesser pileup dependencies compared to the di-electron channel.

Gen Level Study:

The purpose of this was to study various observables at Gen level. The attached pdf file has the details.
