ATLAS Inner Detector Speakers Committee

The committee was setup by the Inner Detector Steering Group - see the Original Terms of Reference.

Membership
The IDSC consists of the ID-IB chair, who also chairs the speakers committee, the ID-PL, and two representatives of each of the subsystems.

The current members are:

The subsystem posts will rotate on a two-year cycle typically allowing for a one year overlap between the two subsystem members, and the ID-IB chair and ID-PL will rotate as normal for these posts.

Role
The role of the Inner Detector speakers committee is for the Inner Detector or subsystem to:

  • Act as point of contact for conference organisers
  • Identify relevant conferences and submit abstracts
  • Maintain a speakers list
  • Select speakers for talks
  • Maintain the ID speakers database as a resource for speakers and to allow fair sharing of opportunities
  • Review presentations prior to the conference and conference reports prior to publication

Where a requested talk or proposed talk may be a more general ATLAS talk, then the ID speakers committee chair will consult with the ATLAS speakers committee chair as to who should be responsible for the talk. In general the ID speakers committee will handle talks on the operation and performance of the ID and subsystems, and any talks that involve the presentation of new scientific results will be handled by the ATLAS speakers committee.
