Joint Advanced Micropattern detectors for Hadron Physics Horizon 2020

This Wiki has been created to prepare a proposal for a Joint Research Activity (JRA) on Micropattern Gas Detectors for the new EU Horizon2020 call in the framework of HorizonHadronPhysics (HPH), coordinated by Ulrich Wiedner and Carlo Guaraldo. In the spirit of the call, "the activities should be innovative and explore new fundamental technologies or techniques strengthening the efficient and joint use of the participating research infrastructures."

Our proposal should therefore contain a sufficient amount of novel ideas and should considerably advance the state of the art in Micropattern Detectors. A non-exhaustive list of activities includes
- novel micropattern detectors for future high-rate experiments
- optimization of operation in high-intensity hadron and heavy ion beams
- radiation hardness of components
- active-target detectors for rare-event searches
- novel readout and data collection concepts
- applications outside fundamental physics
