We wanted to find out more about how the electrons and muons in our events were paired in the different energies. I created histograms for both the 8 TeV and the 13 TeV showing the pairings of electrons and muons.

tW Histograms

The histograms on the left were created using data from the 13 TeV data. The ones on the right were created using 8 TeV data. The top row of histograms are 1D histograms showing the number of events that have a certain number of electrons or muons. Exact numbers and percentages appear on the legends attached to the histograms.

The histograms on the bottom row are 2D histograms showing the number of events with combination of muons and electrons. Again, exact numbers and percentages appear on the legends.

ttBar Histograms

These histograms are the same except they come from ttBar Data.

Additional Information

For each file there was a total of 10000 events the percentage was calculated using this.

Histograms for ttBar and tW

We wanted to compare the number of particles that pass cuts at 8 TeV and the number of particles that pass cuts at 13 TeV, so I created 1D and 2D histograms for that purpose.

Note: I could not create 2D histograms for tHq; there are no events in which 2 leptons appear. Shown here.

Electrons

The histogram on the left is a 1D histogram showing the number of events, in both 8 TeV and 13 TeV, that pass the momentum cuts. The cuts appear on the legend attached to the hist. The histograms on the right are 2D histogram of the momentum of two electrons, one leading and one sub-leading. The top histogram uses particle in the 8 TeV events that pass the cuts and the bottom histogram uses 13 TeV.

Muons

These histograms use the same cuts as the electron histograms.

Additional Information

All of the particles on the histograms have passed the eta cut (2.4 for electrons and 2.1 for muons). The percentages were found by dividing the number of particles that met the cut and the total number of leptons of the status and flavor.

General Information

These histograms were created to show the change in accepted particles when the eta cut changes. They use the same PT cuts as Histograms for ttBar and tW and Event Histograms for tHq and ttBar tau. The increments are shown on the graphs in the percentages legend.
