Detector Geometry

RPC Geometry
Description:
1056 RPCs in total
1 Disk: 3 Rings(Ring 1, the inner one, is not installed)
And CPPF is the new readout system of Endcap RPCs
Each Disk has 6 Sectors and 36 Chambers(segments)

Technicalities of producing Occupancy Histograms



  • Sample: /SingleMuon/Run2018B-v1/RAW with run=317435, 99k events
  • Release: CMSSW_11_0_0_pre7
  • Main file: DQM/L1TMonitor/src/L1TStage2CPPF.cc
  • MR on Github: https://github.com/cms-sw/cmssw/pull/28059
  • Use standard Release Validation workflow: runTheMatrix.py --what standard -l 136.867
  • Here you should be noticed that the illustration plots are not corresponded to technicalities above, you can find the root file in the end.

Ring vs Disk
Description:
Follow similarly the RPC Occupancy plots:
Ring(Y axis) vs Disk (X axis).
Each Disk (station) contains 3 Rings(Ring 1, the inner one, is not installed)
Each bin in X axis corresponds to each Disk
One Hit (RPCDigi) --> one entry
Plot :

Ring vs Chamber
Description:
Follow similarly the RPC Occupancy plots:
Ring vs Segment.
Each bin in X axis corresponds to each segment(chamber).
One Hit (RPCDigi) --> one entry

Roll vs Chamber for a certain Disk
Description:
Follow similarly the RPC Occupancy plots:
Ring vs Segment for each Disk.
Each Ring is subdivided into 3 “rolls” in Y axis.
Each bin in X axis corresponds to each segment(chamber).
One Hit (RPCDigi) --> one entry
Example: Disk -3

Description:

Xaxis: BX(bench crossing)
Yaxis: Each bin corresponds to one Ring in one Disk

Chamber vs Strip
Description:
Segment vs Strip for each Ring.
Xaxis: Each Ring contains 3 rolls, each roll cover 32 strips, each bin correspond to each strip
Yaxis: Each bin corresponds to one segment (or chamber)

Description:
Channel/board/EMTF_link/EMTF_sector(Y axis) vs Chamber(X axis).

Known Issue :
board, channel, EMTF_sector, EMTF_link, are always -99
