  • Remote login to P1 with VNC
    • Install a VNC client on your computer. For example TigerVNC (Linux/Mac/Windows) or Chicken (Mac)
    • Log in to lxplus with port forwarding: ssh -L 5907:localhost:5907 username@ lxplus.cern.ch where the port is 5900 + N. Use N=7 by default, but if there is already a VNC server running on the lxplus node you use, you can change it to e.g. 6. Kill the server and login again forwarding port 5906. Then replace 7 with 6 also in the commands below.
    • Run vncserver on lxplus and set password: vncserver -geometry 1280x880 :7
    • Open the vnc client on your local machine using the address localhost:7 (e.g. vncviewer localhost:7 for TigerVNC), enter your password and connect. You will now see a remote desktop from an lxplus machine on your computer.
    • Open a terminal in the remote desktop and log into atlasgw (ssh -Y username@atlasgwNOSPAMPLEASE.cern.ch)
    • After finishing your work, stop the vncserver on lxplus: vncserver -kill :7

  • TDAQ release: source /det/tdaq/scripts/setup_TDAQ.sh
    • during 2015 & M10: source /afs/cern.ch/atlas/project/tdaq/cmt/bin/cmtsetup.sh tdaq-05-05-00;
    • from M11 and the remainder of 2016: source /afs/cern.ch/atlas/project/tdaq/cmt/bin/cmtsetup.sh tdaq-06-01-00;
    • for 2017 and 2018: source /afs/cern.ch/atlas/project/tdaq/cmt/bin/cmtsetup.sh tdaq-07-01-00;
    • HLT: =source /sw/atlas/cmtsite/asetup.sh AthenaP1,21.1.20 (replace 21.1.20 obviously)
