The CMS experiment is managing hundreds petabytes of data recorded by the detector and simulated physics events. Data is transferred to distributed computing sites providing facilities for data storage, and computing resources for data processing and analysis. PhEDEx, the Physics Experiment Data Export, maintains the knowledge of data replicas locations and manages data transfers between the CMS sites. Main PhEDEx components are:
