This page describes how to perform a refit on combined muons stored in an AOD file. This would be useful for example if updated alignment constants have become available after the AOD file was produced. The package that steers the refit is called 'CombinedMuonRefit', which reads in an Analysis::Muon object, feeds the combined track to a track fitting algorithm (by default the GlobalChi2Fitter algorithm), and produces a new Analysis::Muon with the refitted track. The example on this page will read 100 Z->mumu events from AOD, and produce a new AOD file with the refitted muons. First, set up release 15.9.0:
source ~/cmthome/setup.sh -tag=15.9.0,32,runtime
The example can now be run:
athena /afs/cern.ch/user/t/tcorneli/public/combmuon/readaod.py
This will produce a file "copy_AOD.pool.root", which has the refitted muons ("RefittedCombinedMuonContainer").
