SM WZ Central D3PD Skims

Overview

The skims are intended to provide Ntuples that can be used locally for analysis that meet the needs of the various SM Electroweak working groups. A goal in producing these skims is to reduce the file size as much as possible while still maintaining the ability for full analysis and certain background studies. The Ntuples will reside on Standard Model group disks.

Requirements for Skims

Currently, there are two types of skims that will be produced, a two-lepton skim and a four-lepton skim. The requirements for the skims are based the requirements provided the various analysis groups.

Dilepton Skim
At least two charged leptons with pT > 13 GeV
  • Muons:
    • muID OR STACO
  • Electrons
    • electrons OR GSF electrons
    • author = 1 OR author = 3 (i.e. el_author = 1 || el_author = 3 or el_gsf_author = 1 || el_gsf_author = 3)
At least one charged lepton with pT > 15 GeV
  • Muons:
    • muID OR STACO
    • combined muons (i.e. mu_muid_isCombinedMuon = true or mu_staco_isCombinedMuon = true)
  • Electrons
    • electrons OR GSF electrons
    • author = 1 OR author = 3
    • Medium++ (i.e. el_mediumPP = true or el_gsf_mediumPP = true)

Trilepton Skim

Four-lepton Skim
At least four charged leptons with pT > 5 GeV
  • Muons:
    • muID OR STACO
  • Electrons
    • electrons OR GSF electrons
    • author = 1 OR author = 3
At least one charged lepton with pT > 15 GeV
  • Muons:
    • muID OR STACO
    • combined muons
  • Electrons
    • electrons OR GSF electrons
    • author = 1 OR author = 3
    • Medium++

The code to produce the skims has been provided by Massimiliano Bellomo. Max's code can be found in svn: https://svnweb.cern.ch/trac/atlasgrp/browser/Institutes/CERN/ElectroweakBosons/

Requesting Group Production Role to Run on the GRID

To be able to run on the Grid and have the output written to Standard Model group disk area, users must apply for a group production role through lcg-voms:


The step-by-step instructions are listed below,

step 1. go to https://lcg-voms.cern.ch:8443/vo/atlas/vomrs with your grid certificate imported in your browser

step 2. to make a request from lcg-voms

  • Expand 'atlas Registration Home'
  • Expand 'Member Info'
  • Click 'Select Groups & Group Roles'
  • Scroll down to '/atlas/phys-sm'
  • click the 'ATLAS production manager' box at the right side
  • click the 'Submit' button at the bottom

Arthur will approve the requests as soon as he receive the voms notification

Users must also register their grid certificate with DaTRI

Click on Step 1 - Register your name, email and nickname (nickname is the same as in VOMS) at User Registation Page

Click on Step 2 - - Register your any certificate (help information how to Import and Exporting a Certificate) User Information Page

This will allow you to store the output to the destSE that you specified, for instance CERN-PROD_PHYS-SM, etc.
